Lionsgate is scheduled to release a raunchy road trip pic “Dirty Grandpa” featuring Zac Efron, Robert De Niro and Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza in theaters January 22, 2016.

In the film, Jason Kelly an uptight twenty-something groom-to-be (Efron) embarks on a road trip a few days before his wedding with his recently widowed grandfather and former Army General Dick Kelly(De Niro) only to find that his grandpa is a foul-mouthed lunatic on a mission to get laid during Spring Break in Daytona Beach, Florida.

As this Spring Break road trip proceeds, lots of alcohol is consumed by all, Aubrey Plaza throws herself at Robert De Niro and Zac Efron smokes crack. As the lesson of this “Rite of Passage” are learned, Efon’s character learns that he’s marrying the wrong woman.

The film was actually shot at various locations in Georgia with the beach concert scenes lensed on Tybee Island just south east of Savannah.

Directed by Dan Mazer from a script by John Phillips, Along with Efron, De Niro and Plaza, Dirty Grandpa also stars Zoe Deutch, Dermot Mulroney, and Julianne Hough. Bill Block, Jason Barrett, Barry Josephson, and Michael Simkin producer.

This is the second Universal-Zac Efron comedy following their 2014 box office smash, “Neighbor.” The R-rated comedy, co-starring Seth Rogen, was one of the breakout hits of 2014, earning a stunning $268 million worldwide with production costs of $18 million.
